For everyone new here…All along the month of August, India yarn circle is giving an opportunity to knit and crochet designers to feature a design on our blog.
Each week we are going to promote an Indian Designer and one of their famous patterns with all the details about their journey and love for crafts, to the detail of the design and thought process.
Today we are featuring Savita of Saviknits designs
A quick Intro from her –
Hey ! I am Savita, knitwear designer, passionate for lace knitting, it gives me immense gladness and tranquility. I was acquainted with knitting from childhood but before a few years I delved deep in this craft with dedication, I used to sleep after 3-4 am only after getting satisfactory result in my projects, after that no looking back. I will not leave no stone unturned to get recognized as a skillfull knitwear designer. I have other hobbies as tatting, embroidery and landscape painting. I am a nature lover too.
I love laceknitting and want to make it stress-free and pleasant. I write knitting patterns with clear and easy to follow instructions so that even a beginner level may knit a project with feeling of contentment. Often I post tutorials for knitting techniques, tips and tricks which might be very useful.

PATTERN DETAILS
“First Spring Hue Shawl “is inspired by early spring,which signifies optimism and creativity. Daffodils,Marigold,Yellow Tulips and Calandula are the most prominent flowers blooming in this season. Their yellow hue uplifts our souls with energy,enthusiasm,brings cheerfulness into our hearts.
Construction:
It is a crescent shaped top down shawl, starts with garter tab co.This is airy,classy ,elegant and easy to knit with only one skein of yarn. First Spring Hue Shawl is a pleasure to work on a relaxing garter st. followed by lace sections,which creates a rhythm.Beaded Picot Bind Off is enhancing it’s beauty.Beads are optional.
Skill level- Intermediate
Size- Wingspan 50” and 15” deep,after blocking.
Yarn
The sample shawl is knitted with only 1 skein of yarn,100gm./273.4 yards,in two tonal DK weight viscose yarn. But it will look beautiful in solid colour and in lace ,fingering weight yarns too.
Needles,gauge and beads will vary with yarn weight.
Circular knitting needles-
4mm for Garter section
4.5 mm for Lace section
This project is knitted flat but circular needles are suggested to accommodate the increasing number of sts.
Crochet hook-0.75 mm for placing beads.
Size 6 Miyuki seed beads -64 beads.
Full written instructions with st. count for every section.
