Envie-a-Hexie Doily CAL – Week 2

Notes

When the instructions say join with dc, it means that instead of joining to the first stitch with a sl st, you make a dc in the first st. This creates the last ch space for the round and makes sure that the hook is in the center of the ch sp ready to start the next round. The dc that is used to form the last sp  is counted as ch3sp rather than as a dc.

The doily will ruffle . It will settle on blocking after its completion.

Instructions – Week 2

Rnd 13: Ch1, sc in same place as joining, ch3, sc in next space, ch3, 3dc in next sc, (ch3, sc in next sp) 4 times, ch3, shell in next sp, * (ch3, sc in next sp) 4 times, ch3, 3 dc in next sc, ch3, (sc in next sp, ch3) 4 times, shell in next sp. Repeat from * 4 more times. After the last shell, (ch3, sc in next sp)2 times, join to top of first sc with a dc  – 6 3dc groups, 6 shells, 48 sc, 60 ch3 sp.

Rnd 14: Ch1, sc in same place as join, ch3, (sc in next sp, ch3)2 times, sc in 2nd dc of the 3dc group, (ch3, sc in next sp) 5 times, 2dc in next dc, 1 dc in next dc, ch3, sc in ch2 sp, ch3, 1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, sc in next sp, [(ch3. Sc in next sp) 4 times, ch3, sc in 2nd dc of the 3dc group, (ch3, sc in next sp) 5 times, 2dc in next dc, 1 dc in next dc, ch3, sc in ch2 sp, ch3, 1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, sc in next sp]. Repeat [] 5 times, ch3, sc in next sp. Join to first sc with ch1, 1dc –  36 dc, 72ch3sp, 72 sc.

Rnd 15: Ch1, sc in same sp, (ch3, sc in next sp) 8 times, [*ch3, 2dc in next dc, 1 dc in each of the next 2 dc, 3 dc in next sp, ch2, skip sc, 3dc in next sp, 1 dc in each of the next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc*, (ch3, sc in next sp) 10 times, repeat from *…*]

Repeat [] 5 times, ch3, sc in next sp, join to first sc with ch1, dc – 84dc, 60sc, 66ch3sp, 6ch2sp.

Rnd 16: Ch1, sc in same sp, ch3, 3 dc in next sp, ch3, (sc in next sp, ch3) twice, 3 dc in next sp, ch3, (sc in next sp, ch3)2 times, 3 dc in next sp, ch3, (sc in next sp, ch3)2 times, [skip 1 dc, 1 dc in each of the next 6 dc, 3 dc in next sp, 1 dc in each of the next 6 dc, skip 1 dc*, ch3, (sc in next sp, ch3) twice, 3 dc in next sp, ch3, (sc in next sp, ch3)2 times, 3 dc in next sp, ch3, (sc in next sp, ch3)2times, 3 dc in next sp, ch3, (sc in next sp, ch3)2 times] Repeat [ ] around ending the last repeat at *  , ch3, sc in next sp, join to first sc with ch1,dc – 90dc, 18 3dc groups, 48 sc, 72ch3sp.

Rnd 17: Ch1 , sc in same sp, ch3, sc in next sp, ch3, sc in 2nd dc of the 3 dc group, (ch3, sc in next sp) 3 times, ch3, sc in 2nd dc of the 3 dc group, (ch3, sc in next sp)3 times, ch3, sc in 2nd dc of 3dc group, (ch3, sc in next sp) 3 times, ch3, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in each of the next 13 sts, skip 1dc, *(ch3, sc in enxt sp) 3 times, ch3, sc in 2nd dc of the 3 dc group, (ch3, sc in next sp) 3 times, ch3, sc in 2nd dc of the 3 dc group, (ch3, sc in next sp)3 times, ch3, sc in 2nd dc of 3dc group, (ch3, sc in next sp) 3 times, ch3, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in each of the next 13 sts, skip 1dc, Repeat from * around ending with ch3, sc in next sp. Join to first sc with ch1, 1 dc -78dc, 90sc, 96 ch3sp
